How do I oil my furniture correctly?

Materials needed:

• Furniture oil

• Soft, lint-free cloth or brush

• Clean cloth for wiping

• Protective gloves

1. Preparation
Clean the surface:
Remove dust, dirt, and grease thoroughly.
Dust removal: Use a slightly damp cloth or a vacuum cleaner.

2. Applying the oil
First coat:
Apply the oil evenly with a soft cloth or brush, always following the direction of the wood grain.
Let it soak in:
Allow the oil to penetrate for about 15–30 minutes, until the surface is saturated.
Wipe off excess:
Remove any excess oil with a clean, dry cloth.
(Otherwise, the surface may become sticky or blotchy.)

Aftercare:
Do not heavily use the surface for at least 24 hours.
