Care:
Please avoid using wet or damp cloths! Although wax acts as an extra layer on the furniture’s surface, too much water can penetrate the pores and damage the structure. We recommend using a lightly misted cloth (preferably cotton) to remove minor dirt.
We recommend to treat the surface two to three times a year, as the shine fades over time (we recommend Renuwell Furniture Wax and Quick Care, both to be found on our website). Before treatment, clean the surface of dust and dirt. Then, apply a small amount of furniture wax in the direction of the grain and allow it to work for a few hours.
Scratches / Stains:
Small scratches can be quickly treated with household tricks, such as rubbing the area with a peeled walnut or peanut or using a wax crayon of the corresponding color.
Deeper scratches or stubborn stains (such as water, heat, and burn marks) are harder to remove and will require fine-grit sandpaper. It’s important to sand the affected area broadly and along the grain to avoid unevenness. Once done, remove all sanding residue and apply a suitable wax care product over the entire surface.
Dents:
If one of your furniture pieces has a dent, don’t worry! Here’s a useful tip: Place a warm, damp cloth over the dented area. Then, iron the spot with a bit of steam and pressure. Be careful not to let the iron touch the wood to avoid burn marks. Once everything looks good, let dry and apply furniture care wax.
