Maintenance:
Please do not use a damp or wet cloth! Water displaces the oil in the pores of the wood, which can permanently damage its structure. Use a dry cloth to remove minor dirt. To restore the lustre of your furniture, first clean the surface of any dust or dirt, then apply a suitable wood care product (we recommend Renuwell furniture oil, available on our site), applying it in the direction of the grain.
Scratches / Stains:
For stubborn scratches or stains (such as dried water or heat stains), the use of fine sandpaper is unavoidable. Sand the affected area and a little of the surrounding area in the direction of the grain to avoid irregularities. Then remove the sanding residue and apply maintenance oil to the surface.
Tip: To remove small scratches, simple tricks such as rubbing the area with a walnut or peeled peanut may suffice. You can also find touch-up pens in DIY shops.
Dents:
If your furniture has dents, here's a tip: Place a warm, damp cloth over the affected area, then iron with steam and light pressure to raise the wood. Be very careful, however, to avoid the iron coming into direct contact with the wood. Once dry, apply furniture oil to the surface.
