Characteristics of Sheesham wood (Indian rosewood)

Sheesham, also known as Indian rosewood, is a precious hardwood grown mainly on sustainably managed plantations. It is extremely hard, robust, and long-lasting, making it a popular material for solid wood furniture.

Sheesham is known for its dramatic, high-contrast grain, with colors ranging from golden brown to dark brown or even purplish tones, often featuring bold natural patterns. Each piece is truly unique.

Thanks to its density, Sheesham wood is highly resistant to scratches and impacts. It is also one of the heavier woods, adding to the stability and perceived quality of furniture. Oiled finishes enhance the wood’s rich color and are easy to maintain.
